Feeding baby gouldians

How old do the gouldian finches have to be when you stop feeding them?
Most import is that they are feeding themselves completely. When they first leave the nest they still need assistance and even though they can eat seeds, they still need additional feedings. To say two weeks after fledging is just ballpark. I gather that you are hand feeding. I would look at their tummies' or feel them to see if they are well rounded out. Don't want to feel any razor sharp breast bones or concave sides. I think the best way to be sure is to watch them. If they are active and go for seed alot, it's most likely they are ready to be weaned off formula. When in doubt feed them for sure.
Hope this helps, Jeanie
