I am going to buy a breding paiir.these birds are not banded. Is there any way of telling their age,I donot want to buy an old pair
hi.I want to purchase a breeding pair of gouldians. How can I tell their age if they're not banded?
One thing I look for is their curiosity level. Young birds are very active when you closely approach their cage. They will hop around showing how curious they are. Older birds are usually less active. Also look at their legs and toenails. Young birds have tender glossy legs and new looking nails. Older birds legs will be wrinkly, often with scales and their nails just will look as if they have been around a lot longer. Hope this is helpful.
Best wishes, Jeanie
