My finch is occasionally peking at himself

The both occasionally will pick at themselves not picking out feathers but like ittching or cleaning themselves is this something I should worry about

It could be a sign of mites. Examine your cage carefully and things around it. Mites will hide in the smallest cracks anywhere they can. Spray all surfaces of the cage and nest box with a pyrethrin insecticide,(harmless to the birds)and dust the birds with a pyrethrin powder by putting a little powder and the bird in a paper bag. As the bird moves around in the bag it will disperse the powder. Don't put the birds back in their cage until it has completely dried. Do this treatment again in five days to kill any that may have hatched after the first treatment. Give your birds a place to bathe more often for a while after treatment. Hope this helps, Jeanie
