Dear Jeanie...........thankyou so much for your help and advice.........

last time I wrote to you I had lost 2 babies........I am pleased to advise that.....touch wood........fingers crossed.......

I still have 2 babies in the nest........It is now day 5 or 6 days I think and all is looking good.........

is there still a chance that they could be taken out of the nest?????........

Mum and Dad seem to be looking after them ok..........also my other pair who has 7 eggs.....

could they do the same thing with taking babies out of the nest.........as these are my first finches, I decided to see what mother nature had decided to do........so far so good......

as yet I have only found 1 yellow back female....but unfortunately they are asking way too much for it......so have decided to put my male and a regular Gouldian in a separate cage to see what happens....

hopefully they will strike up a conversation......

I will definitely let you know what happens......so wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed for me and with any luck I will have good news for you about my babies and the new couple........

cheers for now Deb

Hi Deb,

None of my Gouldians ever tossed out chicks that were older than 1 day. As far as the other pair, it's possible that they could toss their chicks, but I think it's highly unlikely.

There is no way to tell who is going to toss or who isn't. I just think the odds are in your favor that your second pair will be good parents.

I do wish you luck! Jeanie
